What we need…
This is an entry level position responsible for processing all release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Associate must at all times safeguard and protect the patient’s right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations.
Work Location: Onsite at a Hospital Facility in Plattsburgh, NY.

What we need…
The Health Information Operations Supervisor (HIOS) is responsible for client/customer service and serves as a knowledge expert for the Health Information Specialists (HIS) staff. The role focuses on front line people management and training, as well as ensuring processes are completed in compliance with established guidelines. This role may also assist leadership with planning, developing, and implementing departmental or regional projects. This role provides support to the Health Information Operations Manager. The HIOS will be responsible for maintaining workflow and productivity of HIS as well as handling escalated situations and driving a positive work environment. The HIOS will also assist in the new hire process, meeting with clients, and developing staff at one or more sites.
Position Highlights...
- Hybrid position (2-3 days per week onsite)
- This position supports sites in Bakersfield and Valencia
- Full-time, Monday – Friday, ~8:00am – 5:00pm

A bit more detail - this is a temporary role to cover workflow needs through February 1, 2024 (there is a medium sized chance that this extends beyond Feb). The role involves processing medical records requests and release of information onsite from a radiology clinic located in Yonkers, NY.

This position is responsible for processing all release of information (ROI) specifically medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Associate must at all times safeguard and protect the patient’s right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations. This is as intermediate level position with at least 1 year related HIM experience. In addition to HIS I Foundation, HIS II is responsible for training HIS I staff and providing reports to manager and/or the facility.

- Preferred understanding of HIPAA requirements for releasing medical records and medical record requests
- Handling inbound and outbound calls, email, fax and other administrative tasks
- Assisting walk up patients and/or clients
What We’re Looking For:
- Great customer service skills
- 1 year medical records or medical related field
- Administrative/clerical experience
- Previous experience working in a medical office environment (preferred, not required)
